Beginning June 6th 2019, U.S. Veterans no longer have to wait to get care for minor medical conditions. Under the new Veterans Affairs Department’s Mission Act, the Total Urgent Care clinic will now be able to treat veterans on a walk-in basis. No appointment is ever necessary.

Minor medical conditions include (but are not limited to): flu-like symptoms, strep throat, minor burns, pink eye, ear/skin infections, x-rays, lab testing and medications.

Total Urgent Care Medical Director Dr. Graham Tujague says, “It’s an honor to serve those who’ve bravely served this country.” He goes on to say, “I look forward to being able to offer vets quick, easy, and convenient access to quality medical care.”

Veterans can now arrive at Total Urgent Care and simply let the clinic know they would like to use their VA Urgent Care benefits. The clinic will then confirm Veteran eligibility before providing care. Before the new law took effect, the VA would pay for private care only when veterans had to drive more than 40 miles or wait more than 30 days for a VA appointment.

Total Urgent Care operates Monday – Friday 8AM-8PM and Saturday/Sunday 8AM-5PM. The Total Urgent Care clinic is a modern, state-of-the art facility providing walk-in care for minor illnesses and injuries seven days a week, including holidays. Licensed providers are available to perform procedures like splinting and suturing, in addition to being equipped with digital x-ray, laboratory services and an electronic medical records (EMR) system.

Total Urgent Care is accredited by the national Urgent Care Association, certifying its clinic delivers the highest level of care available in an on-demand care setting. Total Urgent Care is not intended for major emergencies. If you are experiencing a life-threatening situation, dial 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.
